The trip to Gregory Downs

The truck that ran out of water! Sights along the way
On leaving Normanton we had decided to drive right through to Gregory Downs which was over 350kms. This was were you could leave your van if you chose and go into the Lawn hill National Park. We had talked to many how said the road was not too good and you could do a day trip with out the van easily enough. the drive was pretty uneventful but long. It was a hot day and we did encounter our first road train. They are over 50 metres and you need to pull off the road for them on to the side. Many of these roads was single bitumen but the sides are gravel so its pretty safe to pull over. You have no choice anyway. I also drove for a 150 kms for the first time to give Lloyd a break and managed relatively well.
Roadtrain on a narrow road just gone past us at over 100kms
