We reached the Northern Territory after leaving the desert and found a camp among the trees. It was quite secluded from the main highway and we thought it would be a great overnight spot.
The temperature was about 38 deg so a bbq dinner seemed a good idea and so we got organised and of course Lloyd cooked on our WeberQ at the back of the caravan.
It was such a pretty site but those dam flies were out in droves which meant unless we set up the fly screen which takes some time and is not worth it for 1 night then it was dinner inside. we did sit out after dinner when it was dark and they disappear.

The semi naked chef!!!!
We had over 300kms to drive to Uluru but again it was quite a varied landscape. One really good thing for us has been the drop in diesel price. We paid about $1.50per ltr in Brisbane back in July and the most we paid was $2.16 in the outback in October. In Adelaide the other week it was $1.29 and even in the remote places which we were told was $2.60 last year we are paying $1.85 so thats makes a good saving for us. As we are doing the big milage presently this will probably end up saving us quite a few hundred dollars.

Mt Conner
Uluru is about 220kms from the turn off on the Stuart Highway. After about 150kms you suddenly see this mountain which I understand some people think is Uluru. It is a similar colour but of course much bigger at 760 meters high and very flat on top and is also a monolith.
