The morning came with clear blue skies, the van was sprinkled in snow however.

We went into the Columbia Ice centre early to go on the newly opened Skywalk. There were only 3 other people which meant we had lots of room.The Skywalk is a glass walkway over the Sunwapta Canyon. It is very well done with lots of information and priced at an acceptable amount.
Our next stop was the Athabasca Falls,obviously this is a great time of the year for waterfalls.
The drive along the parkway through the Rockies is pretty easy by NZ standards. I had read all sorts of things about hiring large vehicles and the hazards but the road is wide and it has many long straight stretches,the highlights are quite spaced over the 230kms.
