Banff day 1

We stayed at the Banff National Park Village 1 as they have 3 campsites but one is just like a parking lot.Anyway we decided to hit the museums as Banff has quite a few.
We first visited the Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum which is rather interesting. It is about the first nation people and most exhibits are stuffed animals, mannequins and artifacts. The problem is hardly anything is explained so you are left guessing what animal you think it is.Still it was worth the visit.
Next we went to the Banff Whyte Museum which is fabulous. It is so well done and has art as well,it is after a couple who widely painted in the Banff area.www.whyte.org
The weather had been rather cloudy and so we waited for it to clear before going up on the gondola.
We thought it would be just the normal gondola ride and then back down but this was so not the case. You go up Sulphur Mountain and when you arrive you then have the option of walking on a broad walk up to the Weather Cosmic station where people once lived in the hut and monitored the weather and cosmic rays!!
The view and walk were stunning, pictures don't really do it justice.
Lloyd has always wanted be a snow driver in the Bahamas but  will have to settle for one in Banff!!
