Icefields Parkway June 5

After spending some time catching up on the blog we began the drive up the famous Icefield Parkway which is about 230kms to Jasper.
We had decided to only go about halfway up and stay at the Icefields Centre for the night. This drive is rated as one of the best highway drives in the world. After looking at Herbet and Hector Lakes we arrived at the carpark of the Bow Summit.
Walking out to the Summit
It started to snow and as we wondered along the track there was already about 20cms of fresh powder that had fallen overnight. It was quite deep and we wish we had skis. The view however was awesome and it was great that there were no other people about.

  1. I loved this drive! We did it in summer but your winter photos are gorgeous - and looks like you were lucky with the weather!
