Litchfield National Park WEDNESDAY SEPT 3

Luckily the parts arrived from Perth so Lloyd could finish his job on the Rolls Royce. It was done by 11am and we were packed up in no time and on the road.
We drove to Litchfield National Park which is about 1 and 1and 1/2 hrs south of Darwin. It is much smaller than Kakadus only about 1,500sq mts ,Kakadus is 20,000sq mts but has many things of interest to see with lots of swimming opportunities.
There is only one camp that allows caravans which is at Wangi Falls and we arrived about 3pm after stopping for lunch. The camp is quite large but we drove around several times to find only 1 spot where we could camp, thank goodness for that.It was then time to get organised and go to the falls for a swim. They were lovely and refreshing. It has warmed up considerably over the last week, the highs range from 32-38deg and low now about 19 deg. The best thing about Wangi Falls and the plunge pool was the rock formation about 4 metres up which you could climb and get in this swimming rock pool. The water was warm and there was room really for only 2 people. It felt really special,it was a bit of a climb and I did not look lady like at all getting in,but who knows me!!!

We had a nice evening chatting to our neighbours who happened to be a mechanic and a schoolteacher on a years leave as well from Brisbane. They have to be back by Jan 2015 so we felt pretty good knowing we have another 4 months.

  1. The other day Katrien said that you're saying "Hi" to us... So here's a HI from me. It's crazy to think that graduation is less than 3 months away!
